AusShield

AusShield - Is an entirely new material invented by us. Final stage testing (under an agreement with the Australian and US governments) has now been completed and this material is being evaluated by customers in the U.S.A

Whereas all other ceramic armors are parasitic and are attached to the hull of a vehicle, AusShield is structural and can be used like a metal to comprise the hull of a tank or ship or the shell of a bunker or hangar. In an environment of terrorism it could be used to armor an embassy or vital installations such as power stations.

AusShield is one third the weight of steel for the same protection and is the only ceramic that can defeat armor piercing, shaped-charge and high explosive projectiles.

RESULTS

Most of the recent ballisic testing of AusShield has been done under a DSTO/ARL Government collaborative program and therefore the results are security classified and can not be publicly disclosed.

However, some early ballistic trials were conducted outside of this program and can be disclosed.

Tests done against AusShield using shaped charges are discussed on this webpage in the commercial-industry customers section.
